Currently it seems the LOS rule (awarding additional holiday days on fixed LOS milestones) only come into affect at the start of the next holiday year. This negatively impacts those who are employed in the first and second quarter of a year rather than those from July onwards. I.e. they have to wait longer in order to utilise their LOS benefit.
Describe the Challenge | If you could choose to allow this to be awarded on their milestone date it would ensure all employees are benefiting equally. |
We have changes entitlement changes after 1, 3, 5, and 10 years which is effective on the anniversary of someone's start date. Without this function, our team currently has to manually calculate and update each member of staff's holiday entitlement. Choosing an effective date throughout a year woudl be so helpful and save so much time.
I agree, it would be good if the system allows for the LOS to be added from the when the employee is eligible and there after, for equity purposes it makes sense. Our policy is that after 2 years of service an employee is awarded 1 day to a max of 5 days after each year, this is only effective at the start of each calendar year which is not fair for staff who start mid year, which makes the process manual for HR and subject to mistakes.
We have a rule that after 2 years of service, an extra days holiday is provided, this occurs every 2 years until a max amount is reached. We require this to be added on the employees work anniversary date. However the system does not allow for this to happen. So I have to input this information manually! the LOS rule doesn't assist with this either as it only applies the following year, not on the actual anniversary date. It would be great if this could be amended to suit.
