ATS to have the ability to accommodate for internal candidates being successful.
Suggestion is for a tick box within the candidate record that states Internal application from current employee. Then if they become the successful candidate then can be moved to Convert to Employee but not actually be converted into an employee as they already have an employee record.

This is the same issue we are having at present (is being investigated by People HR) The system actually has been designed to update current employees records when an employee is the successful candidate for a new role (once you change the role from external/both to internal before you move to Accepted and launch the new starter wizard). This doesn't seem to be working properly and is what is being investigated for me now, the message that appears stating that you will overwrite the existing record when you attempt to move also confusing and stops you from trying as you are afraid that you will wipe all information held for that employee. What it actually does is overwrite the old date with the new role data so I will be creating a new thread on this point and recommending that this message is changed to make it clearer.
