Exactly what you want the system to do in this case: Enable the CEO to electronically sign documents – especially Employment Contracts. The CEO currently has Administrator status within PeopleHR. Either an additional access right that can be added to the CEO’s person profile or creation of a specific role.
Why you want the system to do this (i.e. the outcome): This would reflect organisational practice whereby all contracts or employment are offered by the CEO. We have been uploading these to PeopleHR. For the CEO to sign, we need to change the current reporting structure of the employee to a direct report to the CEO. This enables the CEO to sign the contract. When the employee signs the Contract then we return to the correct reporting structure. This is a very messy way of doing things. For a new employee this not much of an issue but for contract renewals for existing employees it is definitely not best practice. For us it is the CEO, but in other organisations it may be another dedicated person (ie HR Manager) who is not within the employees normal workplace reporting structure.
• An example of how this would be used in your workforce: As the need arises, the CEO would be able to read and then sign the Employment Contracts without disturbing the existing staff reporting arrangements within PeopleHR.
Describe the Challenge | A greater reflection of the organisational roles within our organisation. Currently the need to change reporting relationship for existing employees creates issues within PeopleHR with notifications that are generated when changes are made. Enabling the CEO to electronically sign Employment Contracts WITHOUT the need to change anything else would be vastly more efficient. |
