"Consistent Bar Chart Colours = Better Reports!"

One recurring frustration we’ve encountered is that the colours on Bar Charts randomly change each time a report is opened. This inconsistency may seem minor at first glance, but it can actually cause real confusion for users trying to track data over time or present findings clearly to others.

When colour schemes shift with each refresh:

• It's harder to visually associate categories or data points.

• It undermines trust in reports as a consistent reference.

• It increases the chance of misinterpretation during discussions or presentations.

We’ve noticed that some chart elements already support fixed colour selections, so enabling this for Bar Charts feels like a relatively simple yet impactful enhancement that would bring much-needed clarity and professionalism to reporting.

Suggested enhancement:

• Allow users to assign fixed colours to categories or data series within Bar Charts (just like in other chart types).

• Preserve colour consistency between views, exports, and shares.

This would not only improve usability but also enhance the overall reporting experience within PeopleHR.
