Be able to extend a partial sickness day record for an employee if they remain absent longer than that single partial day without needing to record a separate sick day for the same ongoing sickness. It's frustrating having to add a new separate sickness day record and not being able to extend the date on the initial sickness.

Ideally, having the option for open sickness and not having to put an end date in every time would solve all of this.

You can do this, just open the original day you put in and extend the end date. Either the first day or last day can then also be noted as a half day only if needed

If you go to the original partial day entry and update with the last day of absence, it's possible to edit the first day as half or quarter day. Unfortunately 3/4 day isn't an option - this has been raised in a separate 'Idea'.

    Hope this helps!

Agreed - it is very annoying. And that would hopefully mean that the daily emails for completing return to work which the end date provides will only start once the end date is completed.
