We understand that you introduced a new field to stipulate cut off month for carry over days, can the option be added to leave the field blank opposed to a particular month?
Ideally we do not have the option to undo what we updated, which does not make sense.
Describe the Challenge | Please see the above |
Hi,
We are considering your request for future development and will allow an empty Expiry Month for Carried Over Leave.
In the meantime, you can set the Expiry Month to the last month of the holiday year. This will give your employees a full 12 months to use their Carried Over Annual Leave, which should be sufficient given that Carried Over Annual Leave is consumed first.
Best regards,
Cornel
Hi we do not have a cut off month so we wish to remove this field, is it possible?
Hi
Hello @Guest ,
We have recently introduced a new parameter in HR Admin to set the cut-off month for carry-over days, applicable by Location or All Locations. This parameter serves as a shortcut to populate the Employee-level parameter, "Carry Over Expiry Date," which is available within the Employee Planner under Settings.
How It Works:
Location Level Parameter (Expiry Month):
This parameter is set for each Location or All Locations.
Annual Job Execution:
Each year, when a new Holiday Calendar is created, a job runs to populate the Employee's "Carry Over Expiry Date" based on the Location's setup.
Admin Adjustments:
Admins can always adjust the new parameter for each employee and overwrite the default value, allowing them to:
Extend the carry-over period
Reduce the carry-over period
Set it blank
This setup provides flexibility in managing employee leave by catering to individual needs and exceptions.
A detailed explanation here - Expiry Date for Carried Over Annual Leave
This new feature lets Admins set automatic expiry dates for carried-over annual leave, with flexibility for specific months and exceptions for cases like long-term sickness or maternity/paternity leave.

Could you please provide a use case explaining why you need the Cut-Off Month parameter to be left blank?
We appreciate your feedback!
