We are plased to announce an enhancement to "Other Events" in PeopleHR.
Other Events – Options to Allocate Time: Leave vs Working
This update allows you to specify if the time for each Other Event Reason is 'Working' (e.g., Work From Home, Customer Visits) or 'Leave' (e.g., Childcare, Wellness Programs).
Note that the authorization layer for "Working" events was also covered as part of this feature.
Since the feature involved high-complexity refactoring of the "Other Events," please report any gaps, and we will consider them for future development.
Working from home but showing as on leave on PeopleHR calendars, including
Google Calendar via the api, is the main issue. I'm not sure how excluding
this scenario is helpful. The option to show business trips etc, however,
is very useful. It would seem to me to be much better to have working from
home on this list too. Some of my staff occasionally work from home, but I
have to authorise this beforehand so that functionality would be valuable
too.
Many thanks for taking on this issue and helping to resolve it!
In response to the requirement submitted here, we are in the process of building a new "Time Allocation" parameter attached to Other Events. This will allow you to freely decide whether an Event is set as "Working" or "Leave".
I've noticed that the majority of comments specify "Work From Home" as the most frequent use of Other Events of type "Working".
We are planning to exclude these types of Other Events from the Authorization process, at least in the initial release phase. Do you have any concerns or reasons against this decision?
Thank you for your invaluable feedback! The PHR Product Team
This would be invaluable if it were changed to WFH as currently on the overview it shows as on leave, despite being within the "other events" component and also shows up as leave on google calendars too. It is causing no end of issues at work and needs to be updated soon !
This would be particularly helpful it it came through to linked calendars such as Google Workspace calendars. Currently anyone working from home (on PeopleHR) is showing up on their work calendar as on leave which causes no end of problems.
We have a number of employees who work from home on a variable pattern. We are asking employees to record their wfh days on their planners (in 'other events') which then sets their status to 'on leave', which is obviously incorrect. Please can we enable a 'Working Elsewhere' status on other events, or introduce a 'Working Elsewhere' line/row in the planner that can be assigned to specific employees.

Hi Cornel,
This sounds good and I've got no issues with this.

We have multiple staff on variable WFH and Business days, planning and reporting would be much clearer if these didn't show as on leave
This would be particularly helpful it it came through to linked calendars such as Google Workspace calendars. Currently anyone working from home (on PeopleHR) is showing up on their work calendar as on leave which causes no end of problems.

This would be handy to have for any of the Other Events to show reason rather than just 'On Leave'
