New document added notification sent to employee

Employees are not notified if a new document is added to their record unless a signature is requested. This means that we have to email the employee to tell them the document is available for them to see in their files. It would be much quicker and easier for them to receive an automated notification that something has been added for them to view.

    I totally agree that we need to alert employees when there is a new document for them to review - but this should be different to documents that need to be signed.

    Having an alternative to signature would make a considerable difference, I'm forever getting asked why someone has to sign something when all I wanted to do was notify them to it. I used to have a system where you could notify employees to sign or ask them to acknowledge, which was a tick box.

    I think this would be great as I too am having to tell people when I have added a document. Not every document we upload requires an employee to sign but we do need them to be aware when one has been added.

    This could be another tick box, when adding a doc. So we can manage whether this is a doc to sign, to view, or adding docs just to store. Similar to a bank, you get a notification that a new statement is available.

    I wouldn't want it to be automatic as there are times when we've been adding a number of documents to a folder and it would be annoying to have a notification about each one. The option to choose to let someone know would be helpful

    Totally agree. I used the signature option just to alter employees to a document but then they ask why they need to sign. A previous system I used had an 'acknowledge' option as an alternative to signature.

    I'd like the option of being able to send an email but not an automatic notification which we can't control.

    Yes please include an automated email announcing to the employee in question that a document has been uploaded to their Documents section in PeopleHR. I am constantly having to send out emails inviting employees to go into their Documents tab and view the document uploaded. To have an automated email do this would help me so much.

    Equally, the notification that the employee receives to say something has needs signing doesn't take them directly to the document, just to the log in page.

    Yes, I fully support this feature. It's quite a poor use of time to have email people when the system should do it for you.
