Functionality to make the text box field in the Logbook larger

Logbooks are perfect for creating electronic forms. Forms are stored in the employees record, they can have access to them, can create and view whenever they want. Forms that require a word-based response can be difficult as the box only shows 3 lines of text. making it difficult to write and read anything of length. I would like the functionality to either choose the size of the box window for a form or to see or if the textbox can expand to show all text. An example is an end of quarter review, the Logbook is the perfect place to store notes and outcomes of the review but the textbox size makes the process extremely difficult.
