Employee ID to auto generate sequence in number format Merged

It would be useful if the autogenerated PW employee numbers, could be changed to what the employer uses internally.

Currently we use the employee ID field for employee and payroll ID. When adding a new employee on the employee ID it auto generates a PW number. We manually amend this to reflect our own employee ID figures.

Is there a way for the auto generated employee number to change to what we need? Or can this be done for the payroll numbers instead?
