Change downloading documents to view in web browsers

Further to a conversation with Gary Marsh and then his colleague Adam from the Heads of IT Team I have been asked to raise a feedback suggestion via the portal, which follows:

Currently to view a document in PHR you have to download it, which I believe presents a GDPR risk.

Whilst I appreciate access configuration settings means that the correct person is accessing the document, this document is then saved locally to that machine, meaning that anybody with access to that machine can view and print it.

If documents were viewed in a web browser it would take less time to view them, and means that you wouldn't have multiple copies of sensitive/ confidential documents saved locally on machines.

I would urge you to reconsider the current set-up and make changes.

Describe the Challenge I believe it presents a GDPR risk, as detailed above

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

I've tried to view a document by clicking on the document row and that is not working for me. My only option appears to be to download the document.

I can video this for you, but I don't want to add it to an open forum, please let me know if you would like me to do this and where to share it.

    Thanks

Hi, thanks for your idea. Documents can be viewed in the browser by clicking on the document row rather then the popup options. I appreciate that this is counterintuitive and you will be pleased to know that we are in the process of updating the document pages in response to some other ideas which will make this much clearer. These changes are coming soon.

    Thanks

    Paul
