Currently only admins can mark sickness as emergency leave. It would be useful to give the option for line managers to be able to do this.

Totally agree. The agreement to such a request is made by the manager so they should have the access to record this instead of creating another email to system admin/HR to click a tick box - absolute waste of resource and continues to make HR's workload administrative
