Shared Parental Leave is needed, alongside Maternity / Paternity. either as it's own absence type or likely a choice within the Maternity / Paternity absence line.
have logged this with support as query, but was answered to set up as 'Other Event' such as unpaid. However, HMRC need to be informed of SPL, same as for Maternity & Paternity. This other event data does not push to Payroll system (Access Pay).
Other idea from support was to just use Maternity / Paternity, however as pay rules around SPL can differ from Maternity / Paternity leave and with this data pushing into Payroll system, info could end up being incorrect going to HMRC.
Describe the Challenge | Allow to show when an employees us on Shared Parental Leave and allow for accurate & relevant pay data to Payroll |
Thank you for raising this issue. We raised a similar concern with the helpdesk and have also been told to use 'Other Event'. The maternity/paternity section of the planner needs to differentiate between maternity, paternity, adoption & shared parental leave. Default fields such as ordinary maternity leave do not apply to paternity leave and could be considered inappropriate for an employee on adoption leave.
