People HR currently allows the following date formats that can be set in the company settings:
dd/MM/yyyy
MM/dd/yyyy
yyyy/MM/dd
dd/MMM/yyyy
In a client with multiple sites across the globe, cultural norms differ with regard to how dates are written for example MM/dd/yyyy is normal in the US whilst dd/MM/yyyy is the convention applied in the UK and most of Europe.
In order to avoid confusion I prefer the setting that requires a date to be entered as 11 Jan 2024 rather that 11/01/2024 which could be misinterpreted as 01/11/2024, and for this the closest match of the available formats is 11/JAN/2024.
The only place I have encountered such a format is in People HR and I believe the / to be unnecessary characters while the format 11 Jan 2024 is very frequently encountered.
Describe the Challenge | Changing the format of this option by replacing the / characters with spaces would align this available format very much more closely with other conventions used elsewhere whilst clearly distinguishing between the day and month. |
