Two things:
1) When there are multiple approvers for holiday requests, once first person approves they still get a notification if it is not yet approved by second approver, this is just confusing as first person then questions if they approved or not and redoes it.
2) when fully approved, approvers get copied in the email going to the person requesting leave. This is an extra email not required - i.e. they know it's approved as they approved it, causes confusion
