Protecting Original Clocking Times

We're currently using the Time Attendance Sync plugin to import clocking times from our clocking machines into the planner. However, we've encountered an issue where managers can edit these times, even with the "Use Virtual Clock" option enabled. This not only overwrites the original clocking data but also causes the plugin to malfunction if edits are made on the same day.

To address this, we propose the introduction of non-editable fields for the original clocking times within the planner. These fields would display the actual times employees clocked in and out, providing a reliable reference point. The existing time in and out fields, which are editable through the planner, would initially mirror these original times but can be adjusted by managers as needed for timesheet purposes.

Furthermore, when a timesheet clocking is manually added from the planner, the new "original clocking time" field would remain blank, indicating no data was imported from a clocking machine or API.

This change would ensure the integrity of original clocking data while still allowing for necessary adjustments, enhancing both accuracy and trust in our time attendance records.

Describe the Challenge Our goal is to introduce uneditable fields for original clock-in and clock-out times, ensuring data integrity and reliable attendance tracking.

Voted. We have to spend a lot of time sorting out errors with our integrated clocking in software when someone changes a time on PHR, and the amendment has to be re-edited by an admin to the original clock-in time.
