so senior managers can view appraisals/scores of their teams should they wish
currently the system is set up so you give extended access but also get access to private documents and private ifnormation that you may not want to share and this setting cannot be shared

I agree. I think there should be more filters available to allow managers to have access to certain things like accessing all staff members telephone numbers for emergency but yet prevent them at looking at other staff members (not their own staff)performance reviews and documents. It seems when you change one filter it has a knock effect to other things you need access too.
Simlar to above. Prevent those with elevated access rights from deleting their own documents.
