Most recent log book entry

Currently we get staff to complete a log book entry every 6 months. I wouled like to be able to run a report that shows the most recent log book only. I can filter by date but as some staff may not have completed a log book for a couple of years and others have been diligent and posted one in the last 6 months, this involves a lot of manual filtering. ( I spoke to Raluca about this a while ago). Could you put in a "most recent" filter please
