Currently when a hiring manager requests a vacancy, there are only a few boxes for them to write into. We would like a more robust request process whereby the hiring manager is asked specific questions about the role, such as a business justification, costs, start date, if it's a new role or backfill, the cost of not having the position filled. We are unable to edit the fields so there's very little flexibility and the approvers not getting the information required to be able to decide whether or not to approve the position.
In addition, there's no way for an approver to go back to the hiring manager on the system and ask questions or ask for them to add further information. It's then all done outside of the system.
Describe the Challenge | A poor job approvals process, lack of detail and transparency |
I had a similar conversation with a new line manager today - currently when he receives an email asking him to approve or deny a holiday request for one of his team he is unable to go via the link provided directly on their employees planner to see the actual leave requested -
The link in the email in image 1 below doesn’t bring me through to the corresponding request.
It send me to a landing page and asks me to re input my email and then asks for a password.
So, for any requests, I need to go log on to People HR separately, find the person/date and request to review that request. Then go back into the email and either approve or decline on the email instead of the People HR page.

Also in the print option on top right hand corner of planner page - why is there only an option to print pdf of Absense or Annual Leave. There should be an option for TOIL etc
Will this be updated -
KInd regards

It would be good if the extra boxes could be customizable so that you can put whatever is suitable relevant to your organisation rather then set additional boxes
