Custom Fields Section for Employees

Can a dedicated section be added for custom fields within each employee profile. This feature would allow for the creation of additional custom fields on a 1:1 basis, as opposed to using logbooks, which currently permit multiple instances per employee and lack Ripple integration.

This feature would provide a simpler, more streamlined way to manage employee-specific data, avoiding the complexity of managing multiple logbooks and external API processes.

This will reduce manual overhead and ensure there is no duplication of these fields. It would also support automated workflows via Ripple and API access.

The new custom fields section would, ideally:

  • Use the same field types and functionality as logbooks.

  • Limit entries to one set of custom fields per employee.

  • Be accessible via Ripple, the API, and the Excel import template.

  • Allow unlimited custom fields to be added based on organizational needs.

Describe the Challenge Currently, logbooks allow multiple entries per employee and are not directly updatable via Ripple. This limitation forces us to build complex external processes to achieve automation. By introducing a 1:1 custom field section for employees, we can streamline workflows, reduce dependency on workarounds, and improve data accuracy and accessibility within the system.
