Holiday Authorisation Workflows & Reporting

The requirements / brief is as follows:

1. Creating a tool to be used to aid us in blocking holidays according to our new holiday policy. Our policy has created "Holiday Pools" and based on the number of employees in each pool, either 1 holiday slot or 2 holiday slots are available to be assigned (for pools of 4 people and less, 1 slot is allocated; for pools of 5 and greater, 2 are allocated). The number of slots is how many of the employees can be on holiday at once. When the maximum number of slots are booked on the calendar there is a block put in place to stop any other holiday being booked by the rest of the holiday pool.

2. The calendar gives a visual. The visual is able to be split into holiday pools or the approver of the holiday. Based on the input, holiday and scheduled absence will be recorded in different colours. These inputs are shown on a calendar that spans the holiday year and gives visuals on the complete employee pool as well as skill pools. It will also be used by senior manager to check that holiday is being approved correctly by manager as well as the distribution of holidays across the year.
