Currently, line managers are receiving notifications every day that an individual is off work. They can't complete the Return to Work form for the employee as they are still absent and thus are notified every day in response to this - filling up inboxes. And even if they were to complete the form, they would be notified because the employee hasn't completed their part.
We think instead there should be an option to "Close/Complete the Absence" on the last day of sickness/first day back at work that HR select as a trigger to start the reminders to line managers. This makes it so they aren't reminded daily to complete the Return to Work forms.
Describe the Challenge | We want line managers to receive Return to Work reminders only when the absence has been "complete". |
can I also request that in addition to the reminders being more timely and less frequent that online return to work option be something that can be turned off or on as a company setting, our company does face to face return to work meetings as we have a form to be completed that is more extensive than the online one due to the nature of our business, the online one is a duplication for us and would be better if it was an option to use them rather than it being a required feature
We still require the need to log the absence on the planner for payroll reasons so it is important that we still log with immediate effect. However in doing so, the daily reminders that remain triggering until both parties have completed the return to work are frustrating when an employee is off for a substantial period of time. Even if the daily reminders were to continue beginning from the first day after absence until both parties had completed (as I do think there is still a benefit to the system reminding both parties) but when there is no chance the employee can complete the return to work form due to absence it does somewhat clog up both parties inboxes!
This is a great idea to reduce/manage line managers email traffic when a member of their team is off for a planned period of time (e.g. operation)!
