Move the overview section to the end of an appraisal, instead of being the first tab.

Our employees find it confusing why the overview of the performance appraisal is at the start. This would make more sense to move to the end so both employees and managers can reflect on the overall performance.

Describe the Challenge Confusing why this is at the start and is no option to add at the end instead.

I brought this up with our consultant and got a really poor response that didn't make sense:

"The “Overview” section in the Performance Review module is a core component of the People HR system. It appears automatically because it provides a summary of the entire review, helping both employees and managers get a clear picture of what the review covers at a glance.

    This section is important because:

It sets the context for the review process by giving a high-level view.

It ensures consistency across all reviews, especially if multiple reviewers or managers are involved.

It acts as a summary for quick reference, especially during follow-ups or performance discussions"

I completely agree with your comments here, how and participants expected to be able to summarise when they haven't gone through the review yet?

The low level "training" I recieved from Access People HR was more geared towards using the Performance Management module as a survey tool and they hadn't reviewed our current performance template (as was promised when we bought the product) and kept asking if we wanted to do monthly reviews ?!?!.The training had poor grammar and spelling throughout and the consultants didn't have a clear idea of how to use the system as they continued to make mistakes while explaining the product.

Hi Jack, I agree with your thoughts, what I always do in 'initial training' with staff I advise them to leave that tab until last as they need to have worked through and considered all their performance evidence before coming to those ratings. Managers are also trained in this to ensure they can self manage their teams rather than escalating to HR.

Completely agree - also it shouldn't make it that you have to complete it before you can share with the manager, it should be something to be completed together

Completely agree, overview should be after.
