Rather than having a separate manual in/out board, have a function by where a list can be downloaded of staff that are in the business on that day. This would assist for fire drills.

Totally agree, it is so frustrating that we cannot see that.
I wanted to pull a report for a manager to show who was in on a certain day. I had to do a holiday report and a staff list then merge to show who was in. Took so much longer than if I was just able to see!
